The Green Party is an attempt to challenge corporate power and the power of money by building a grassroots political movement. This means the Green Party can only succeed if its supporters come get involved. Democrats and Republicans might be able to support their candidates by watching TV ads and just voting on election day. But the Green Party, by its very nature has to ask for more from its supporters. The Green Party can't talk to people by purchasing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of TV ads. The Green Party has to do politics the old fashioned way. We have to talk to people.

This first is the law that outlaws any support of any kind to a 'terrorist' organization. Even advice on non-violent conflict resolution is subject to charges under this law.

New reports now suggest that the Gulf is experiencing an Exxon Valdez every 2-3 days -- so far that would be nearly 25.  This afternoon (June 17) it is reported that BP admits they have no clue about a shut off solution till August.  And are they so sure that will work??   Anyway that is about 30 Exxon Valdez's away. 

Last night I attended a "Move To Amend" meeting in Arvada.  This group is a local chapter of a national group so named.  The movement to move to amend is a coaltion of lots of folks who realize that the original intent of the founders of our nation did not include artificial legal fictions when they wrote, "We, the People..." (In fact most were pretty hostile to similar entities such as the British East India Company and extremely cautious to grant corporate charters for periods longer than 7 years.)

The blockade of Gaza by Israel is a war crime, an act of war that the US has ignored for three years.   The Settlements and the continual growing  of what Israel keeps calling "facts on the Ground" are clear evidence of bad faith in peace process negotiations.  Now the murder and piracy on the high seas!  And my elected leaders SILENT when we should be voting -- not to reject the Goldstone Report but to end military aid to Israel, and condemning the blockade and piracy,and playing lap dog to Israeli pressure to invade Iran, droning civilians and torturing captives etc etc.
