  Lt Col, USAF, ret. (101 Combat Missions as Fighter Pilot in Vietnam);
Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Nuclear Engineering from the California Institute of Technology;

President of the Institute for Space and Security Studies;
Former Director of Advanced Space Programs Development(“SDI or Star Wars”) in the Ford and Carter administrations;
Author of two books on SDI, which he opposed under Reagan;
Active as a speaker with Veterans for Peace and Vietnam Veterans Against

Recipient of the Eisenhower Medal, the George F. Kennan Peace Prize, and many other  awards; has chaired 8 major international conferences; one of the  country's foremost authorities on national security; lectured
at the National War College, the United Nations, Congressional Caucuses, the Academies of Science of six nations, and the House of Lords; ran for President in 2000 for Reform Party
